From the moment I was first introduced to HRGO, I had a strong feeling I was joining somewhere special. My first impression was how genuinely welcoming, professional, and people-focused the business is and six months on, that still rings true.
My onboarding experience was smooth, structured, and incredibly supportive. I was made to feel like a valued part of the team from day one.
What really made me feel welcome was the warmth of my colleagues. Everyone was so open, helpful, and encouraging. There’s a real sense of togetherness, we celebrate wins, support each other through challenges, and always have time for a good laugh!
The team culture at HRGO is something I’m genuinely proud to be part of. It’s collaborative, high-energy, and rooted in mutual respect. People are passionate about what they do, and that kind of energy is infectious.
The support I’ve received so far has been amazing: from my direct manager right through to other teams across the business. Whether I’ve needed help, guidance, or just a bit of reassurance, there’s always someone willing to jump in and offer it.
One big thing I’ve learned since starting here is just how powerful it is to be surrounded by people who want you to succeed. That kind of environment builds confidence and brings out the best in you.
A real highlight for me so far has been seeing candidates our team have supported land the roles they were hoping for: knowing we’ve helped make a difference to someone’s career is incredibly rewarding. That’s why I love what I do!
My role has absolutely aligned with and exceeded my expectations. I knew I wanted a people-first, fast-paced role, and this has delivered that in spades. I’m learning every day, growing professionally, and genuinely enjoying the journey.
If I had to offer advice to someone joining HRGO Recruitment, I’d say: be yourself, ask questions, and throw yourself into every opportunity. You’ll be supported every step of the way, and you’ll never feel like you’re doing it alone.
If I had to sum up my experience in three words? Empowering. Welcoming. Energising.

Joining HRGO as an apprentice has given me a strong foundation in recruitment, combining structured learning with practical, real‑world experience. The apprenticeship has helped me build confidence quickly, especially in areas such as communication, candidate engagement, and managing the full recruitment cycle.
A key milestone in my development has been successfully completing my first senior permanent placement. I managed the entire process from start to finish, including sourcing candidates, conducting detailed screenings, coordinating interviews, collecting feedback, and supporting the final outcome.
During the process, the first shortlisted candidate decided not to proceed. This led to a meeting with senior leadership and the client, where it became clear that the position needed to be re‑scoped as a more senior role. The brief was updated, responsibilities were expanded, and the package was adjusted to reflect the seniority required.
With the new brief in place, I returned to the market, built a fresh shortlist, and successfully placed a candidate who was the right fit for the updated role. Seeing the process through despite the changes was a rewarding experience and a significant moment in my early career.
Overall, the apprenticeship has enabled me to develop quickly, strengthen client relationships, and gain confidence in managing permanent recruitment. This placement has been an important achievement in my journey and a great step forward in my career.

Joining HRGO at a time when I was uncertain about my future in recruitment was daunting, but I couldn’t be happier with my decision. My initial impression of HRGO was that it was a breath of fresh air to work with a leadership team that prioritises employee well-being and client service over profits. With recruitment traditionally being all about sales and top billers, the leadership teams focus on employee wellbeing, technology and client service really stood out to me. From day one, I felt very warmly welcomed, and the support I’ve received since has been unwavering. Someone is always there at the end of the phone to help, even when you’re a long distance away from any other branches!
Our in-house system, FONT, has significantly improved since I joined, thanks to our tech team’s dedication to improving the consultants’ experience. Marcus and his team constantly seek ways to ensure that technology alleviates our workload – without taking away any of the personal elements that I enjoy so much about recruitment. FONT has become such a powerful asset in our client interactions.
This role has surpassed all my expectations and shattered any preconceived notions I had about traditional recruitment agencies. The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that having a supportive team and maintaining consistent activity are the keys to achieving great results. For anyone starting at HRGO, I encourage you to lean on our excellent internal support groups and don’t hesitate to reach out to colleagues in other branches with your questions.
If I had to sum up my experience so far at HRGO in three words, they would be:
Thrilling, Inspiring and Collaborative.
Tony Joining the Perm Hub
Hi, I’m Anthony Stone, and joined HRGO at the beginning of May 2025 as a Principal Recruitment Consultant within the PermHub.
I joined HRGO to deliver new permanent business within the IT Managed Services space.
My first impressions of HRGO were from video calls I had with Helen, Richard and John prior to joining, and all 3 were incredibly welcoming, and I must say, I felt at ease speaking with all of them.
My onboarding experience was great, I had individual meetings with each of the leadership team, Jessica in HR and Dan & Steve in IT and they kept me informed with everything I needed to know, and they all made sure I was happy during my first week.
What really felt amazing was, how everyone made me feel so welcome, and nothing was ever too much trouble, and every person I spoke with during my first week told me that they were here to help and that I shouldn’t hesitate in asking for help or reaching out if I needed anything or had any questions.
An example of this that comes to mind, was being introduced to HubSpot for the first time, and Caine went out of his way to load my initial target clients onto HubSpot for me, and he even added some mobile numbers from his Cognism account, and he did that for me right in the middle of his work day.
I’d never used HubSpot before I joined HRGO, and I now use it every day comfortably, all due to the training I received from Mark.
The highlight so far for me is the trust and automony that the company gives you. Your given all the backing and tools you need, and all the support is there, but you are then given the freedom to go out and deliver, and to me that’s been a wonderful experience.
If I was going to give any advise for someone joining the company it would be to just ask for help if you even slightly feel unsure about something because everyone in the company will go out of there way to help.
My experience in 3 words: Trust, Hardwork and Family
