A client of mine who is in distribution, based near Shepton Mallet are looking for a transport planner. Salary around £ 25- 27k
So , what are we are we looking for:
The job role
Traffic office tasks include:
Order entry - PGC Mandata TMS Transport planning system & subcontractors. ( training will be provided)
Load building, planning & routing allocating drivers and vehicles.
Delivery note & manifest preparation for drivers.
Booking in of deliveries via telephone, e-mail & portals.
Assisting drivers & customers with questions & queries both via e-mail & telephone.
Briefing & de-briefing drivers.
The ideal person would be:
Punctual.
Accurate
Confident in a fast moving environment.
Willing & prepared to learn, quick learner.
Able to communicate effectively and confidently with colleagues & customers.
Familiar with technology such as word, excel and able to adapt to changing systems.
Prepared to work shifts & weekends.
With regard to the rota, majority of shifts will be 5am to 2pm or 12pm -9.pm
Possibly 1 in 3 weekends for starters, this may change though as we see a clearer picture / pattern of how things pan out following Brexit and customs.
