We are currently recruiting on behalf of our bespoke Harlow Essex based manufacturing client � Packing Lead Operator (Materials FMCG, chemical or medical.etc ) � - Salary is £23k plus 18% shift allowance . within the Packing Production area The role is projected to commence asap within packing hall team. Ongoing development of supervisory skills is offered for candidates to : * To ensure efficient running across the packing departments by optimising outputs and quality. This role will cover the packing functions across (Materials FMCG, chemical or medical.etc ) departments as well as having interaction with Engineering, Primary, Quality and Material teams. Coach the operators of the Packing Hall department to ensure targets are hit. * Hands on role in the production processes in the department. * Work with Product Packing Manager to focus on minimisation of waste, downtime and quality. * Collaborate with the Material Support Team Leader to make certain that the packing lines have the correct materials available and in the right quantities to work efficiently. * Assume responsibility for problem material and ingredients and work towards solutions to avoid waste and downtime. * Liaise with relevant departments for prioritising of jobs on the shop floor when the schedule cannot be adhered to. * Clear and precise handovers with the alternating shift. * Assist the Product Packing Manager in the incentive reviews of the packing department. * Ensure that Efacs, Production and Quality paperwork reflect accurately the work completed. * Work with engineering and product packing manager to highlight issues within the department. * Participate in checking of work instructions, training protocols and training assessments for the packing areas so that they are both up to date and reflect working and quality practices. * Introduce new staff (including temps) into the production environment and ensure company protocols are followed. * Participate in the collection of KPI data and analysis. * Ensure first off checks completed on packing lines * Contribute to investigations into issues within the department, including complaints, NCR's, CARS etc. * Take a working part of the team in the implementation of new products and processes into production. * Flexible approach to assist or cover roles / jobs within production where needed. * An active role in ensuring employee compliance with Health and Safety legislation and have a positive influence on Health and Safety improvements. * Be a positive and leading influence on housekeeping across the site. All candidates must be able to work the following shift pattern >> Working Hours: Week 1 - 6.00 am - 2.00 pm Monday - Thursday 6.00 am - 1.00 pm Friday * Week 2 - 1.45 pm - 10.00 pm Monday - Thursday 12.45 pm - 6.45 pm Friday Basic pay and a 18% shift premium for late shift plus some overtime opportunity .
