Location - Swanley, Kent

HRGO Education are in search of a SEND Teacher (ASD) that can teach a specialised curriculum Pathway designed to inspire pupils with Autism (ASD).

HRGO Education are recruiting for a progressive SEND school based in Swanley, Kent. They are seeking an enthusiastic ASD Teacher with a passion for supporting young people with Autism, that can deliver a specialised curriculum designed for the individual pathways being followed by the young people at the school (aged 11-18)

There is parking on site and the school is a commutable distance from the surrounding areas of Bexley, Gravesham, Tonbridge and Bromley.

The school was rated "Good" by Ofsted and are well resourced to support the additional needs of their young people with ASD. The school has excellent facilities and lots of outdoor space including a Forest school and Horse riding facility. They also do lots of school trips and outreach work to support the social development of their young people.

The ASD Teacher role:

  • To coordinate, plan and teach a curriculum pathway in consultation with the phase lead teacher
  • To provide high quality teaching and learning and fully meeting the individual needs of each student
  • To provide effective communication to students, staff, carers and other departments to ensure improved attainment and aspirations of each student
  • Working well with other members of school staff to provide a stimulating learning environment.

What you will need for this ASD Teacher role:

  • QTS or previous SEND teaching experience (unqualified teachers will be considered if they have relevant SEND experience)
  • A flexible, "can do" attitude and an understanding of ASD
  • Organised, reliable, friendly, hard-working and resilient with a good sense of humour.
  • Enhanced DBS or one in progress.
