Urgently required experienced Class 1 drivers to work in a permanent capacity for our client based in the Medway area.
Duties will be to transport goods to various locations in the South. This may include occasional overnight stays away from home.
You will need to ensure all transport legislation is adhered to, including drivers hours and vehicle defect reporting. You will carry out various trailer work, to include chilled refrigerators, curtain siders, low loaders and containers.
You will need to make sure all paperwork is accurate. Candidates will need to possess a valid in date HGV Class 1 license and hold a current Tacho Card. Ideally if you hold a PSV license this would be advantageous - you will occassionally need to transport others in the company bus. If you dont hold this, the company will put you through the training to do this.
Manual handling is part of this role quite frequently. Average working hours are 55 per week and often unsociable working patterns. The first 40 hours are based at basic pay, with an overtime rate being offered after this. An additional bonus is offered for driving the 30 seater bus.
