Job Role: Science Technician

HRGO Education are in search of a Science Technician that can help inspire pupils with SEMH nurturing requirements.

HRGO Education are recruiting for a progressive SEMH school based in Sevenoaks, Kent. They are seeking a Science Technician with the skills to help prepare lessons and practical experiments in the Science department of the school.

The technician role forms a central and vital part of the work of the Science department. You will work closely with teaching staff to support and develop the work of the department and the experiences of the students. You are responsible for the preparation of practical activities and will assist in the management of the department's resources.

The school was rated "Good" by Ofsted and are well resourced to support the additional needs of their young people. There is free lunch provided by the school and safe on-site parking.

The Science Technician role:

• You will be responsible for the preparation and assembly of equipment and resources for demonstration and practical work.
• To work within the classroom setting supporting the teacher and students (both in a group and 1:1 situation).
• Be able to store scientific equipment and resources are in a safe and secure condition ready for use. To undertake cleaning, minor repairs and modification as necessary of equipment.
• To order and record equipment and resources, unpacking and checking arrived orders. At times, purchasing of consumables from local shops as needed.

What HRGO Education are looking for:

• Previous technician, classroom or Science department experience is desirable but not essential.
• Science A-level is desirable, Science (GCSE) essential
• Organised, reliable, friendly, hard-working and resilient with a good sense of humour.
• Enhanced DBS or one in progress.
