Sales and Marketing Director - Precision Engineering

HRGO Recruitment is currently seeking a Sales and Marketing Director to join a prominent, well-established specialist precision engineering business located in the Hatfield, Hertfordshire area. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the Senior Leadership team, overseeing the effective implementation and ongoing enhancement of the company's sales and marketing strategies. Responsibilities:
- Assume ownership and accountability for the activities of the company's sales and marketing team.
- Recruit and train team members, ensuring a well-equipped and skilled workforce.
- Lead and manage team members on a day-to-day basis, providing coaching, overseeing performance management, disciplinary processes, and fostering development to cultivate a productive and thriving work culture that enhances employee engagement and retention.
- Conduct research, analysis, and set price points to optimise sales and maintain healthy profit margins.
- Manage the sales pipeline from leads to project on-boarding, leading cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities through competition and customer analysis.
- Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in target accounts.
- Utilise industry knowledge to identify new opportunities and increase market share.
- Take responsibility for sales and marketing KPIs, sales budgeting, and forecasting.
- Create and manage market and product campaigns.
- Develop and manage marketing campaigns.
- Oversee overall customer account management, coordinating with internal keyholders supporting customers in engineering, quality, operations, etc.
- Lead the generation and negotiation of contracts.
- Contribute to developing business strategic and short-term/medium-term plans.
- Continuously expand knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitors, staying informed about new product features and enhancements to effectively communicate their value to customers.
- Travel, as required, to suppliers and customers.

Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior sales & marketing management position preferably in the actuation business.
- Significant experience working in the sales and marketing positions.
- Previous exposure in the gear and gear actuation product sectors.
- Engineering qualification at degree level, preferably mechanical engineering.
- Understanding of sales processes and plans for effectively managing sales.
- Responsible for a minimum, 8 digit order intake budget.
- Proven track record in delivering profitable growth, developing business and driving change.
- Managing sales process via CRM.
- Managing cross functional teams.
- Leading teams of five or more including performance management, disciplinary processes, development.
