Mechanical Maintenance Fitter Rate: to £13.00 p/hr, Overtime Rate to: £19.50 p/hr (time and a half) Offering an excellent stable temp to perm position Immediate start available. Own transport required due to location Mechanical Maintenance Fitter is required by long established and respected engineering manufacturing Company to cover site maintenance and breakdowns and assist in building of special purpose machines. This interesting and varied "hands on" role is working with various engineering machinery, following monthly maintenance schedules and fixing breakdowns. Mechanical skills are required and any electrical skills will be beneficial. You will have significant experience working with most of the following and be willing to learn and train in the others: * Various site machinery. I.E Machine Shop Mills / Lathes / Drills - Sheet-Metal & Fabricating machines including hand tools, polishers, heaters etc. * Assembly equipment. * Electrics. * Plumbing. * Modern manufacturing methods. * A can-do attitude approach. On quieter times you will assist in building and assembly of Special Purpose machinery. Typical mechanical skills such as fitting motors, pneumatics, bearings etc., also marking out, drilling, tapping cutting etc. City & Guilds Qualifications / Apprentice in Engineering would be an advantage. Applicants need to be very flexible as they are also required to cover general facilities maintenance around the site including other duties as required such as painting and decorating. Rate: to £13.00 p/hr, Overtime at time and a half Working hours, 39-hour week. Monday - 7.30 am - 4.00 pm Tuesday - 7.30 am - 4.30 pm Wednesday & Thursday - 7.30 am - 5.00 pm Friday - 7.30 am - 12 noon Location: In the Sandy - St. Neots - Cambourne area.
