Mechanical Assembler / Fitter

• Salary: £30,420 pa (Equiv. to £15.00p/hr), Overtime at time and a half (£22.50 p/hr)
• Permanent Position, working Days: Monday to Friday.
• Early finish on a Friday at mid-day.

• Own transport required due to location
• Immediate start available

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler / Fitter to join this successful, established special purpose machinery manufacturer based in the Cambourne area on the Cambridge and Bedfordshire border.

As a Mechanical Assembler / Fitter, you will be responsible for the mechanical production build of various complex equipment from scratch according to drawings and pneumatic diagrams.

This interesting role is to work on various types of assembly and fitting to a high standard for equipment used in the food Processing industry.

Previous experience building special purpose machinery is essential.

Previous experience is essential in the following:

• Mechanical motor fitting, stripping and rebuilding
• Building air pneumatics
• Building and fitting bearing housings
• Experience in Hydraulics
• Proficient with the use of various hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Have significant experience of building special purpose machinery
• Candidates need to be able to read and have good understanding of engineering drawings

Qualifications:

• City & Guilds Qualifications in Engineering would be an advantage or a good engineering background.

Salary:

• £30,420 pa PLUS - Overtime at time and a half
• Overtime is generally available paid at 1.5 times hourly rate - Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings.

Hours:

• Full Time: 39 hours per week
• Monday: 7.30 am - 4.00 pm
• Tuesday: 7.30 am - 4.30 pm
• Wednesday & Thursday: 7.30 am - 5.00 pm
• Friday: 7.30 am - 12.00 noon

Location: In the Sandy - St. Neots - Cambourne area.
