HRGO are currently looking for a Lab Technician who specialises in Waste Treatment
MAIN PURPOSE
Performs skilled work in the quantitative analysis and monitoring of outputs associated with the processing of waste at our Mechanical and Biological Treatment Facility (MBT) at Waterbeach. Complies with regulatory and safety requirements on the operation of laboratories and ensures all testing and calibration activities meet the principles of ISO 17025. Communicates results to Management Team for quality control and ensures legislative and regulatory requirements as well as permit specifications are fulfilled.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs process monitoring testing on a wide variety of samples for the Mechanical and Biological Treatment Facility (MBT) including air flow, process material (waste), water discharge and any other testing as maybe required.
Ensure required sampling is taken and dispatched for analysis
Calibrates laboratory equipment, performs quality control checks, analyses performance evaluation samples
Maintains records of all monitoring requirements including records of the taking and analysis of samples, instrumental measurements, calibrations, examinations, test and surveys and any assessment or evaluation made on the basis of such data.
Prepares laboratory reports for the Management Team and regulators.
Work involves the accurate management and assimilation of laboratory data, reporting results in specified format and notifying the Management Team of any abnormal results
Adheres with all relevant legislation including Health and Safety at Work Act
Maintains laboratory consumables and orders laboratory supplies. Maintains laboratory instruments and equipment in good working condition to provide precise data and testing in a timely manner
Keeps up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments
Ensure all data is regularly reviewed and uploaded to the Intergrade Management System on SharePoint
Assist in the preparation and delivery of internal and external audits
