Head of Finance

Salary guide: £70,000 pa

Location: Harlow, Essex

We are currently looking for a Head of Finance to join a leading, established medical instrumentation design and manufacturer based in Harlow, Essex.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the accounting and controlling function of the Group and the management of the Finance Team.

Performance Measures:

• Overall management of Finance Department covering the UK entities, ensuring that systems and staff are efficiently maximised.
• Accurate Financial Accounting (MS Dynamics) and reporting (Cognos).
• Management Accounting / Controlling Function as a Business Partner.
• Provide controls and advice in line with financial performance.
• Monitoring and reporting of KPI data.
• Efficient Networking Capital Management.
• Ensure that the Company Secretarial function is carried out in line with statutory requirements.
• Produce annual statutory accounts.
• Support and coordination of external and internal audits.
• Manage the financial planning process (rolling forecast, quarterly and budget).

Key Tasks:

• Management of the Finance Department ensuring that systems and staff are efficiently maximised.
• Coaching and developing the Finance team to meet departmental objectives.
• Financial analysis support to directors and departmental managers.
• On time provision of financial data to directors and departmental managers.
• Production of relevant financial management information on a timely fashion.
• On time input of data into the group financial system.
• Set, monitor and report financial KPI's.
• Production of annual budgets and forecasts in conjunction with relevant directors and managers.
• Alert and interaction with relevant director/manager where significant variance between actual and budget become evident.
• Ensure that statutory obligations are met on issues such as VAT, NI, and Personal Taxation etc.
• Conduct financial reviews of Company systems in areas other than the Finance Department.
• Provide financial advice to directors and managers to contribute to the overall profitability of the Company.
• Manage the Company's cash resources and ensure that networking capital targets are met.
• Ensure that the Company Secretarial function is carried out in line with statutory requirements.
• Ensure that all financial transactions comply with regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Corporate governance.
• Ensure collection of monies and payment to suppliers to be effective and highly controlled within all Group Companies to align with networking capital targets.
• Support the HR department regarding the payroll system and pension schemes.
• Maintenance and upkeep of internal financial procedures in alignment with external requirements.
• Ensuring the Finance team training is assessed and updated in line with changes to legislation and internal policies.
• Ensure smooth running of finance Department.
• Ensure processes and practises are aligned with GDPR requirements.
• Update Managing Directors of legislative and/ or policy changes.

Required:

• Accounting qualification (e.g. Certified Management Accountant).

Salary guide: £70,000 pa.
