Graduate Test Development Engineer

Salary guide: £23,000 - £28,000 pa

Location: Harlow, Essex

Established Electrical wholesale importer & distribution, design, manufacturing company requires a Graduate Test Development Engineer to join their team.

The company supplies 1st and 2nd fix electrical products for the wholesale electrical market. They cover most electrical products including enclosures to in house custom designed RCD products.

The successful candidate will be:

• Working in the technical office, supporting the technical and quality functions.
• Developing and moving forward the companies testing capabilities using the requirement of the key British standards used by BS7671.
• Evaluating new products and improving current products so they meet the required standards.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Giving technical support to customers, sales and purchasing (telephone and face to face).
• Fault finding and reporting on customer returns.
• Developing test capability of current test laboratory to meet requirements of British standards.
• Introducing and ensuring product screening and testing programs are maintained.
• Interrupting British standards and ensuring products and testing meet these requirements.
• Evaluation and introduction of new products.
• Inspection of incoming goods.
• Finding solutions to technical issues, from customers and suppliers.
• Writing product instructions and technical documents.
• Working with overseas suppliers, looking to develop new products, ideas and concepts.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering subject or equiv.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of IEEE part 18 wiring regulations & Part P.

• Any knowledge of BSEN standards and how to use them.

Salary guide: £23,000 - £28,000 pa
