Experienced Workshop Controller required for Busy Workshop in Jersey

Salary : £27500 to £40000 + Excellent benefits

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Controller to work within a busy Workshop in Jersey.

This Workshop Controller position will suit an enthusiastic individual with 4-5 years' workshop experience who would enjoy a busy role and who has the ability to run a busy workshop and to delegate workloads to technicians. You will be strong minded with the ability to demonstrate drive and ambition whilst thinking on your feet.

The ideal Workshop Controller candidate will ideally have a commercial background having worked previously in a workshop control position and have good organisational and man management skills as well as having a "hands on" approach. You must also have the ability to motivate and train staff whilst maintaining targets and deadlines.

The Workshop Controller will play a key role in making our workshop run as smoothly and efficiently as our cars.

You will be expected to be able to calculate and manage the effective use of workshop resources, monitor staff and workshop performance to maintain standards, allocate work to workshop team based on the mix of skills available and resolve customer queries according to guidelines.

We are looking for a strong communicator to take a customer focused approach to their work and also have the skills to influence others to succeed. Previous experience is necessary.

Workshop Controller Responsibilities include:

o Responsible for the efficient running of the workshop.

o Delegating workloads to Technicians and increasing productivity.

o Liaising with Service Department to keep them informed of progress and advising on any additional work that needs carrying out.

o Planning and organising hours to sell and drive labour sales.

o Delegating workloads to productive staff in a workshop.

o Gaining authorisation from customers to carry out additional work.
