Position: Engineering Technician/CNC
Location: Bootle
Hours: Monday -Friday
Salary: £13.50 - £15.70 per hour DOE
Our client offers leading technology solutions for the printing and packaging industry worldwide, we are currently looking for an Engineering Technician.
Role Objectives:
Safely produce, to the highest quality standards, cylinders, using Conventional & CNC lathe's, CNC and Conventional Milling machines, Schenck Balancing equipment.
Reading, understanding, and interpreting complex Engineering specifications and producing parts to exacting tolerances.
Following all site Safety, Process Control and Quality standards
Completion of electronic and written data capture for all jobs in line with standards.
Autonomous maintenance of plant and equipment.
Manufacture of parts within specified customer tolerances.
Update and report detailed information in respect to all activity using IT systems.
Participate in small group activities and project work.
Improve right first-time quality of the site (OTIF).
Read and understand technical drawings, interoperate alpha numerical information, and ensure parts match specifications.
General small repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment.
Follow and actively improve all site safety and quality standards.
Critical skills and experience:
Time served machinist with demonstrable experience.
Mechanical Engineering background or qualifications.
Cylinder manufacture preferred but not essential.
Competent use of precision measuring equipment (micrometers, DTI, Vernier scale).
Demonstrable experience using CNC and conventional, Lathes and Milling equipment.
Ability to Program Doosan or Victor CNC machines.
Attention to detail and robust problem-solving skills.
Goal oriented and willing to own personal development whilst embracing IT and other new technologies.
Willingness to embrace change and continuous improvement methods.
FLT license (not essential but preferred).
