Customs Clearance Operator

Location: Dover
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 (DOE)
Hours: Monday-Friday, Day Shifts Only

What You'll Do

• Process import and export customs clearances accurately and efficiently
• Calculate duties and taxes with precision
• Prepare and issue all required customs documentation
• Communicate confidently with customers, freight partners, government agencies and customs officials
• Handle Road Freight clearances and support occasional Air/Sea movements
• Assist internal teams with customs‑related queries
• Keep your knowledge fresh with up‑to‑date customs regulations
• Provide occasional out‑of‑hours support when needed

What You'll Bring

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths & English (A-C)
• Confident IT skills, particularly within Microsoft Office
• Previous customs clearance experience-ideally in Road Freight
• Great communication and customer service skills
• The ability to stay calm, accurate and focused under pressure
• A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
