We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crop Team Leader to join a Farm. As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in leading and motivating a harvest team of up to 11 operatives. This team will be responsible for harvesting by hand and using harvesting machines in various weather conditions.

Reporting into the Harvesting Operations Manager, your main responsibilities will include overseeing harvesting, weeding, hoeing, and crop covering procedures. You will be responsible for instructing, training, and developing team members to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their tasks efficiently and effectively.

Adherence to food safety and health and safety procedures is of utmost importance in this role. You will be expected to ensure that all team members follow these procedures at all times. Additionally, you will be responsible for achieving productivity targets and ensuring that food quality standards are consistently met. Crop walking and analysis will be a regular part of your responsibilities, as you will be required to monitor the health and progress of the crops. Administration tasks, including the completion of the team's weekly timesheets, will also be required.

The successful candidate will possess excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills to ensure that tasks are completed accurately and to a high standard. Experience of working outside in all weather conditions is essential for this field-based role.

Strong communication skills are vital, as you will be required to effectively communicate with, motivate, and influence a diverse team. You will be expected to role model a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude to inspire your team members.

Flexibility is key in this role, as you will be responsible for supervising different activities and may be required to take a hands-on approach when needed. Previous experience in quality control is highly desirable.
