Pan-EU Transportation systems and Infrastructure Department is planning to enter the railway market in the UK by investing in one of the existing train operating companies. The Business Development Manager will lead this strategic move. After successful investment, several bids will be prepared and selected. Business Development Manager will also lead this competitive process.
Previous experience in the railway industry in the UK and winning bidding processes in the industry.
Investments, which include, sourcing new deals, conducting comprehensive due diligence and negotiating with potential sellers
Bid Preparations, which include, qualitative and quantitative research and analysis of the competitive landscape and consensus building among the group and partners.
Budget control - periodically checking actual income and expenditure reported, compared to 'actuals', calculating vacancies, identifying trends and highlighting any variations to the budget owner
Strategy creation - creating a successful strategy to enter the UK railway market and grow a train operating company
Networking - attending conferences and dinners to meet people in the sector and build working relationships
Preparing various contracts with the Legal Department
Coach one team member
The Business Development Manager has the opportunity to travel to some other European countries such as Italy, France and Germany, the frequency is approximately once a month
Qualifications:
Educated to Degree level or higher
Desired: Degree in Management and Business Administration, Corporate Finance, Accounting or Economics.
Skills:
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Investment skills, including an understanding of Accounting and Finance
Effective negotiation and networking skills
Ability to build a strategy.
