Pay £12.37 to £13.72
MAIN PURPOSE(S) OF THE JOB:

Supervise work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive areas across Council and school establishments.

Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and take corrective action.

Purchase housekeeping supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new employees, and recommend performance actions.
MAIN DUTIES:

Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformity to prescribed standards of cleanliness.

Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.

Conducts induction training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.

Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.

Evaluates records to forecast department personnel requirements.

Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.

Provide guidance and direction to staff, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.

Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

Carry out recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organisation.

Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Keep records up to date by entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.

Identify the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.

Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.

To carry out training of cleaning staff as necessary, including inducting new employees and ensure that the staff can log onto ESS, can find employee information and policies on the Oxfordshire County Council intranet.

To maintain administration, personnel and payroll records via the OCC Manager Self Service systems in accordance with OCC policy and procedures. To ensure that all employees maintain their own records using the Employee Self Service Lite system.
Carry out audits for new and existing sites to assess their cleaning requirements
You will be responsible for: Cleaners, Cleaning Supervisors, Cleaner / Caretakers, Mobile Cleaners, Mobile Specialist Cleaners
