HRGO Recruitment Wakefield are currently looking for an experienced Workshop Manager on behalf of an internationally renowned vehicle hire company. The role will involve overseeing the Wakefield workshop, which is responsible for the fleet maintenance of a busy depot.
Role:- Workshop Manager
Hours of work:- 45 hours a week, Monday - Friday between 8am and 6pm + 1 in 4 Saturday AM
Salary:- £36-39K per anum + Company vehicle and Mobile phone

Duties to include:-
- Utilising internal and external resource to ensure best repair options, first time fix and reduce VOR Times
- Manage and authorise supplier invoices.
- Ensuring that all accident and recharge work is captured and invoice in line with recharge procedure.
- Efficient management of vehicle VOR and customer support.
- Managing the day to day operations of the workshop facility and staff.
- Interfacing with customers on engineering issues.
- Providing technical engineering support to manager.
- Liaising with nominated 3rd party suppliers to ensure best cost options.
- Achieving maintenance spend in line with depot budget.
- Ensuring all service and inspection documentation is correctly completed.
- Managing the Fleet maintenance system and issuing approvals with in authorised limits.
- Managing workload and job assignment.
- Quality control
- Ensuring workshop equipment is maintained and inspected in line with legislation.
- Providing and maintaining inventory records for workshop equipment.
- Ensuring that health and safety regulations are adhered to.
- Overseeing the procurement of parts and manage impress stock levels.
- Implementing "preventative maintenance" procedures
The Right Candidate should have:-
- Extensive management experience
- Appropriate technical qualifications and experience including being an apprentice trained fitter and City Guilds part 1/2.
- Strong communication skilles, both verbal and written.
- Strong decision making and problem solving ability.
- Planning and time management.
The following would be preferred:-
- Knowledge of Transportation and Logistics industry.
- Strong IT literacy.
- Understanding of vehicle maintenance.
- CPC National.
- Refrigeration experience.
