Responsible for the day to day acceptance of incoming waste streams across all parts of the site, ensure that they are weight in correct on the correct contract. Ensure that all correct paperwork is supplied to all drivers entering and leaving site. Ensure that daily and week reports are correctly checked and then sent on to the relevant departments accordingly.
Week 1 hrs = 10am to 6:30pm Mon to Fri
Week 2 hrs = 10am to 4:30pm Mon to Fri / PLUS Sat 6am to 4pm
WB operations covers 24 hours 6 days per week on a rotation basis.
Main Responsibilities
Accept deliveries for site and inform the relevant person of the delivery
Ensure targets are met, including (but not limited to) vehicle turnaround times monitored and actioned
Assist customers/drivers with queries and complaints. All complaints must be reported, investigated and remedial actions carried out if required
Complete and close out actions identified through internal and external audits.
Ensure that KPI reports, and WB check sheets are completed on time, these include turnaround reports, WB safety checklists, and various BOXI reports. Cross check all site reports daily to ensure that they are collect.
Identify relevant skills and training requirements for staff, prepare local operating procedures as part of staff training and development.
Manage the induction and training of drivers, ensure that key messages are understood and followed.
Carry out regular walkover inspections of the WB area and equipment - to include monthly site inspections, safe inspections, fire alarm and system checks.
Report all safety or environmental issues to Management, and where appropriate, to internal support services staff.
To carry out any other such reasonable job-related tasks that the Company may require.
Weigh in vehicle within the correct contracts with the correct allowances (44TN max etc).
Adhere to the Weighbridge operating procedure and complete all paperwork to ensure that we are compliant.
Ensure that all legal standards are followed (waste carrier licence checks)
Control site traffic via CCTV system across the site. Monitor site traffic by turnarounds and delay forms.
Upload new authorised vehicles for all on site as requested by site management
Monitor and ensure export loads are handled correctly including load weights and correct paperwork stowage
Facilitate site tours as required
Training / Qualifications
Essential:
MUST be computer literate
MUST be able to use basic office software (word, Excel) to a good standard
MUST be flexible with shift cover (must accept that there will be times when they must cover a day/afternoon/night shift during existing staff leave or absence)
