HRGO are recruiting a Maternity Cover Team Leader for our client based in Deal. The Team Leader provides first line management to a team of Carer Support Coordinators and also provides direct support to Carers to help them navigate through health and social care systems and access community resources. The post holder is responsible for providing appropriate up to date information, and support to both staff and Carers.
Core Duties
Provide first point of contact to a team of Carers Support Coordinators, providing information, and support about queries or problems in relation to individual cases
Support the Carers Service Manager in the implementation of change, revised practice, processes and reporting systems to facilitate continual improvement
Support and manage team members to deliver organisational goals and objectives
Implement performance management policy, review and develop as appropriate
Allocate Carers Assessments to team members and quality assure Carers Assessments once completed
Authorise Carers one off payments and provide first line approval for applications for a Direct Payment
Work with the Carers Service Manager and other Team Coordinators to plan activities
Allocate outreach visits and other undertakings to team members
Provide examples of impact of support to Carers using case studies and evaluation tools
Contribute to Carers newsletters and promotional materials
Carry out risk assessments as required
Work with Carers to identify their needs and offer support options to meet those needs
Provide emotional support (not counselling) and information and support to Carers
Build a rapport with Carers and maintain contact using their preferred communication method
(Including telephone, e-mail, skype, face to face sessions)
Essential
Experience of providing direct services to people with care needs and/or Carers
Experience of managing people.
Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
Experience of working to policies and procedures
Experience of using Microsoft Office programmes and database or information systems
Experience of providing information to enable individuals to make informed choices
Knowledge of the needs of Carers and those with care needs
Knowledge of the voluntary and statutory sectors
Awareness of how care funding works and applies to Carers and those with care needs
This is a working from home role, with visits to the office and travel across East Kent. You must have a full driving license and your own transport. This is a full-time, Maternity Cover position, 37.5 hours per week and is an excellent opportunity to work with a successful and well-established company.
