Tax Assistant opportunity for the Family Office of an entrepreneurial high net worth family.

Salary- £25,000- £35,000 DOE

Option to work from home on one day per week post training/probationary period.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a supportive team to build your career. You will be delivering a range of tax compliance services including-

  • Maintain personal tax records for worldwide information, for UK self assessment tax returns. Ensure all returns and payments are submitted on time. Assist with capital gains computations

  • Preparation of income and expenditure information

  • Maintain EIS/SEIS relief tax records for investments qualifying under these venture capital schemes, preparing claim forms and tracking relief claims and withdrawals. Investment planning.

  • Preparation of VAT returns for a sole trader whose VAT information feeds into their tax returns. Research into VAT questions as required by the wider team

  • Completion of international tax reporting forms to banks and investment companies for individuals and businesses (FATCA/CRS/AEI)

  • Undertake ad-hoc tax and investment related projects and research

There is also the opportunity to undertake additional tasks depending on your experience such as-

  • Provide technical support for our payroll department researching questions on payroll and staff benefit taxes
  • Trust Tax - opportunity to gain experience of UK Trust tax returns and computations
  • Reviewing Corporation Tax returns and computations and maintaining our corporation tax records

You should-

  • Be keen to progress your career in Tax and is seeking a varied role which offers the opportunity to expand your experience across a range of tax work

  • Have attained or currently studying for ATT qualification with a minimum of 18 months relevant experience, preferably in a Practice environment.

  • Be confident, flexible and willing to gain further experience in the workplace

  • Be committed and highly organised with a pro-active and common-sense approach

  • Have excellent administration and communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Have integrity, discretion and the ability to deal with confidential information

  • Be tactful, diplomatic and approachable, with the ability to develop relationships with a wide range of people

  • Take ownership of tasks and follows them through to the end, seeks feedback on own performance

  • Have excellent IT skills, including a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience of using accounting software is advantageous
