Position: Supply Chain Lead

Location: Bromborough

Hours: Monday - Friday

Our client is looking for a Supply Chain Lead within the Engineering industry who is able to support and supervise a small team, this is an exceptional opportunity, please contact me for more information.

Duties:

• Drive and implement Supply Chain strategies to meet or exceed targets for quality, cost, delivery and cash management for the procurement of goods and services in support of the business.
• Lead the procurement team toward achieving the business goals while maintaining and encouraging the highest ethical and performance standards.
• Engage and support the team throughout the execution of RFQs and supplier selection decisions focused on optimization of cost, quality, delivery and cash management.
• Lead the team and ensure they provide operations and project management with details on deliverables.
• Encourage and support development of the team performing appraisal activities and providing feedback.
• Manage team workload, setting priorities and delegating tasks/projects.
• Identify, develop and manage strategic relationships between DTUK and the supply base.
• Quantify and drive supplier performance improvement via a supplier scorecard process, review performance regularly with suppliers.
• Expedite suppliers and resolve any issues that could effect delivery, quality and cost.
• Provide essential reports on targets and KPIs to the management team.
• Support business development in the costing of proposals.
• Represent the company in client meetings to support company business development and project execution when required.

Skills:

• Experience in a procurement role supporting engineering-based production contracts
• Previous experience selecting and managing all aspects of supplier relationships throughout the lifecycle of a project
• Experience in a commercial office environment
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional capacity
• Planning, organisation and delegation skills
• CIPS Level 4

You will be required to visit new suppliers this will be within the UK and Europe as and when required.
