We are looking for a Stores Assistant for a client of ours in Sparkford. They are an award winning manufacturing company with great company values
The working hours are 37.5 per week 0800-1700 Mon-Thurs (45 mins meal breaks) and 0800 - 1245 Friday (15 mins meal break)
Training would be provided for Sage, FLT licence and any other relevant H&S training.
There is no career progression as it is a singleton post so please do not apply if you are looking for progression
Role Purpose
Support the Stores Controller in the completion of Stores duties. Assist with housekeeping, general duties and monitoring of equipment.
Accountabilities
Receiving Goods in from couriers.
Maintain COSHH records and update in accordance with COSHH Regulations.
Checking quantities and booking in on SAGE system.
Putting goods away in allotted space.
Carry out housekeeping checks and fire inspections on a weekly basis. Ensure fire extinguishers and fire alarm system are serviced on a regular basis.
Monitor first aid kits and their whereabouts, ensuring items replaced when used and kits are fit for purpose.
Ensure the records for workshop equipment are kept up to date, e.g. harness bags, ladders and any other equipment that is accountable.
Manage recycling and general waste, ensuring bins are not overfull. Communicate with our preferred waste carrier on skip collection and requirements.
Assist the Stores Controller with bi-annual stock checks and with more frequent stock cycle counts.
Assisting with Goods out.
Responsible for housekeeping in all internal and external Stores areas.
Maintain consumable levels.
Person Specification
Overview of required qualifications, knowledge, experience, skills and attributes.
Essential:
Possess GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths, or an equivalent standard
Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
Good ICT skills, competent with MS Office
Be driven and motivated
Desirable:
Previous experience in a Stores environment
Good customer facing skills
Forklift licence (or willing to train)
