HRGO are currently recruiting for a Solar Engineer for our client in Canterbury. They will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of the mounting system, modules, all DC/AC cabling, inverters, and connection to the distribution switchgear. Projects range from domestic installations within the southeast to large commercial projects nationwide. This is a site based hands-on role and will require the candidate to be physically fit.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience installing and commissioning solar photovoltaic installations. Must have experience (and preferably qualified) to install and commission electrical installations (domestic and commercial).
Have experience with managing small teams of operators and be comfortable interacting with clients.
Be willing to travel and potentially stay away as and when required. (Project duration will vary from project-to-project dependant on size)
Specific Duties
Supervise and oversee a project from inception to completion, ensuring it is delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
Undertake site surveys to establish local conditions which impact design, as well as researching local supply costs for inclusion in the project budget
Supervise site engineers & subcontractors
Support Junior Installers
Manage and respond to daily project requirements and produce weekly progress reports
Proactively solve issues encountered on site in conjunction with the site engineers
Regularly communicate with clients regarding the progress of the project
Complete paperwork prior to, throughout and following installations, in compliance with MCS standards and procedure
Essential Criteria
Installation of roof anchors and mounting rails
Stringing and Installation of Solar modules
Installation and commissioning of inverters, hybrid inverters and batteries
Inspection & Testing experience
Previous customer service experience
Professional and polite at all times
Proactive and self-motivated
Full driving licence
Must live within 30 miles of Canterbury
Proactive and self-motivated
Strong English language (reading, writing and spoken) proficiency
Full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday
Salary - £30,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent upon experience and qualifications
