The Safeguarding Manager is the designated lead for Safeguarding responsible for the management and implementation of Safeguarding procedures and systems and learning and development for the team providing information and support to Carers.
This role is vital to ensuring compliance with policies and a best practice/person centred approach to managing safeguarding concerns.
CORE DUTIES -
To be the designated lead for safeguarding, providing a source of support, advice and expertise for safeguarding.
Ensure that safeguarding processes are implemented and used in accordance with stated policies, procedures and regulations so that the service achieves its compliance obligations
Oversight and management of the service safeguarding log and safeguarding specific action-plans and records
Work closely with Management team around safeguarding best practice, particularly in relation to areas such as HR/Recruitment, Suppliers, Referral Partners
Produce learning materials and lead/deliver associated training and coaching, to ensure team members are competent and confident to carry out their roles and follow policies and procedures in relation to safeguarding
Develop a system of reflective practice within the team and lead the continuous improvement of safeguarding management
Lead weekly case review meetings and monthly Safeguarding meetings with manager's/team members
Attend and contribute to staff meetings on a regular basis, ensuring learning relating to safeguarding is shared and safeguarding is a standing agenda item
Analyse themes and trends relating to safeguarding to inform continuous improvement and identify gaps/issues in service provision (internally/externally) and to inform a person-centred, preventative approach to service delivery
Support the managers in the implementation of operational change, revised practice, processes and reporting systems to facilitate continual improvement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with all involved in Safeguarding cases; Carers, team members, colleagues, referral partners and professionals
Able to manage and coach others to have difficult conversations, to support the consistent achievement of good outcomes for people being supported where safeguarding concerns have been raised
Take personal responsibility for keeping up to date with internal policy updates and any new or emerging legislation, policy and best practice in areas of health & social care, particularly around safeguarding and of relevance to Carers
Share responsibility for own development and training with line manager, taking up opportunities provided and applying learning to practice
Any appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Hours are 37.5 hours per week
Salary £30300 pa
Full Driving Licence and transport required
