Risk Control Officer with FLUENT Mandarin ESSENTIAL

Fluent Mandarin Essential due to liaising with Head office Reporting.

As a second line role, support and challenge the management of risks and report material risk issues which fall into the remit of the Risk & ALM Department to the Head of Department and Senior Management to ensure that risks are managed within the Bank's risk appetite and regulatory requirements

• ​Quantitative education background (maths, physics, engineering, or IT) with MSc or equivalent in Finance/Risk/Accounting

• Excellent Excel skills (up to VBA level) and Microsoft Office application skills with coding education and capability as a plus

• Teamwork and independent "can do" attitude

• Interested in financial risk and systems.

• Looking for a market risk individual with 3+ years relevant experience preferably within a Bank or financial institution.

• Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Proactively challenge the first line's risk identification and management of operational risk.

• PRIMARY - Market Risk and Interest Rate Risk in the banking book I(RRBB) reporting: produce daily, weekly monthly and quarterly market risk and IRRBB reports for various stakeholders, including Parent Bank and Senior Management. (Specifically: HO returns G32-G33 and J as well as ALCO reports and Risk & Compliance Committee reports).

• PRIMARY - Market Risk Management: monitor the Bank's risk position (Banking and Trading) and VaR on a daily basis and perform ad hoc analyses.

• PRIMARY - Market Risk Limit Management: both banking and trading book risk limits management and reporting on daily/ weekly/quarterly basis via risk systems.

• PRIMARY - Product Control: ex-ante risk and PC daily management and reporting via inhouse system.

• SECONDARY - Asset & Liability Management: assist with FTP updates and produce management information for ALCO and Risk & Compliance Committee meetings.

• Good knowledge of IRRBB and market risk management
• Ability to deliver accurate and comprehensive risk reports and to propose meaningful and constructive solutions and suggestions.

• Other tasks as directed by the Head of Department.

• Fluent Mandarin - Spoken & Written skills are essential for this role.
