Brand new inspection role!

Calling all quality inspectors, we currently have an opening for a Quality Inspector for an aerospace precision engineering company based in Welwyn Garden City. You will play a key role in supporting a variety of inspection processes, ranging from operating CMM measuring equipment to first-off and visuals inspections, working to ISO 9001 standards.

You must have relevant experience within quality/ inspection to be considered for this job role or be qualified to ONC/BTEC level within Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to understand complex drawings.

The responsibilities of the Quality Inspector include:

• Perform first-off, process and final inspection, recording all findings when necessary.

• Measure and inspect components using a variety of techniques, such as Digital Height Gauge, Verniers, Micrometers, Tesa Scan and other Metrology tools.

• Programme and operate the CMM equipment as and when required (training can be given).

• Writing detailed inspection reports.

• Raising, overseeing and enforcing non-conformance reports for external suppliers and internal production.

• Analysing the measuring equipment based on: cost, maintenance, fitness for purpose and how often they're used.

• Involvement in the Product Part Approval Process.

• Patrol inspections.

We are looking for a candidate who can really hit the ground running, with excellent teamwork and communication skills. Being punctual and reliable is also important, whilst being able to confidently drive improvements in the business. You will have to be committed to adhere to strict working deadlines.

This role is a Monday-Friday position, operating from 8AM to 4.30PM.
