Hours: 4 days on 4 days off (12-hour shifts alternating between days and nights)

Salary: £40K ( plus an annual shift allowance of £3,628 paid monthly in arrears)

We are looking for a Permanent Plastics Injection Moulder Technician based in Sheffield. For this amazing Employee owned Multi Award Winning Packaging Manufacturing company, with a working environment which is best in its class, and an office and manufacturing plant you will find a pleasure to arrive to every day.

A full-time position you will report to the Moulding Manager.. The working hours on a 4 on 4 off 12-hour shift pattern. Working 4 days 6am-6pm then four days off followed by 12 hours 6pm-6am and 4 days off, Some flexibility is required to occasionally work around the needs of the business.

The Role?

To ensure the efficient running of the team and machines in the manufacturing sector, ensuring production and quality targets are met whilst maintaining the housekeeping standards of the business. The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

Duties & Requirements:

• Physical fitness for tool changes on large machinery.
• Willingness to work overtime during busy periods.
• Safely perform tool changes on various moulding machines.
• Operation of Injection Moulding machines to meet production targets.
• Willingness to train and develop across additional technologies.
• Perform quality control tasks according to cycle of control to ensure products conform to customer specifications taking full responsibility for accurate and timely checks.
• Operation of material conveyance system
• Operation of chiller systems
• Continuous improvement (Kaizen System) - Design, Develop and implementation of ideas.
• Being an ambassador for safe working practices and the business's clean as you go policy.
• Willingness to develop personal skills and abilities in line with the company's route to progression.
• Flexibility to provide additional cover for holidays, absence, training etc.
• Ability to work unsupervised in a responsible and safe manner in the company's best interests

Key Skills and Experience:

* Proven experience in a Plastic injection moulder

* Experience with Engel injection moulding machines preferred.

* Familiarity with Viper 3-axis robots and Kuka 6 Axis robots.

* Experience with machinery sizes ranging from 100t-1700t.

* Mechanical and electrical experience advantageous.

* Ability to read diagrams, technical drawings and manuals.

* Strong awareness of Health and Safety requirements

* Awareness of quality standards and their relevance in manufacturing

* Experience of "5 why's"

* Excellent communicator in verbal, written and face to face forms.

* Excellent time management.

* Good at managing interpersonal relationships.

* Able to work under pressure.

* A keen eye for detail and the ability to understand and challenge data.

* Experience in Packaging Manufacturing
