Rate £16.01 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Performance and Management Information Officer on a fixed term contract until March 2023, working within a local government/council office.

Job Purpose:

  • Support the P&MI Manager to drive continuous improvement across all the Department's activities.

  • Contribute to the development and management of the Department's performance framework and processes to ensure departmental managers can test and challenge service performance.

  • Contribute to the development of performance and management information in the Department, with particular emphasis on managers' use and understanding of the information in relation to operational delivery and effectiveness.

  • Ensure the Department meets all its statutory, regulatory, partnership and Council information reporting requirements, including external and internal quality and audit standards.

Person Specification/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Educated to at least degree level or equivalent.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the major factors, influences and challenges facing local government.

  • Knowledge of local government decision making service planning, consultation, and budget management.

  • Working collaboratively across organisational boundaries to drive sustainable continuous service improvement.

  • Supporting effective delivery of service/business plans to meet performance targets, managing, and mitigating risk.

  • Developing practical, innovative, and creative approaches to performance management and performance improvement

  • Securing ownership and commitment to key objectives across professional staff teams and building capacity and capability to deliver

  • Working effectively with stakeholders and partners and building positive cross sector relationships in support of key objectives

  • Delivering cross-organisational performance management and improvement initiatives including major cross-cutting performance and efficiency reviews leading to improved services for residents and customers

  • Co-ordinating and managing provision of statutory and local performance indicators internally and externally ensuring the accuracy of data.
