OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join a client of ours in the Thanet region. The purpose of the role is to work collaboratively with the education and care support staff to enhance the integrated and holistic support planning and learning for the young people at the school. There will be a special focus on sensory integration within this post. Roles & Responsibilities * Conducting assessments for young people with complex sensory and health needs in a variety of educational and residential settings across the school community and as part of the schools wider inter-disciplinary team. This will include sensory, fine motor and self help skills * Providing evidence based assessments and reports, implementing and evaluating individual OT intervention programs and educational support staff in their use as well as parents and caregivers when required * Attending reviews and other relevant meeting to submit reports, progress and interventions needs as required * Liaising with and guiding support staff to ensure the sensory, fine motor and self help needs of each young person are met * Keeping parents and carers informed and providing support in developing their young persons sensory, fine motor and self help skills at home Qualifications and Experience * HCPC Registration in Occupational Therapy * Occupational Therapy qualification * Interest in or experience of working with children and young people with learning disabilities and autism in a residential school community * Experience of carrying out intensive occupational therapy treatment and interventions * Post graduate experience of supporting children, caregivers and families * Post graduate training and experience in Sensory Integration Therapy If you believe you are suitable for this role, then please apply with an up to date CV
