We are currently looking for a Temporary Multi Skilled Maintenance Person for our Ramsgate based client. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role. This position will involve the following duties:- 1. Undertake general maintenance and repairs of all timber and steel fabricated pontoons within the harbour areas. 2. Maintenance of ladders, fenders and piles around the harbour. 3. Assist with buoy maintenance and Nav Aid repairs. 4. Carry out inspections to inform fault reporting. 5. Provide and maintain work sheets and records for workshop machinery. 6. Undertake general maintenance as instructed by Maintenance Foreman. 7. To willingly participate in the health and safety culture and contribute to method statements and risk assessments for maintenance tasks. 8. Respond to emergency incidents as part of the emergency 'out of hours' procedure involving Council assets or responsibilities. 9. To undertake any other such duties appropriate to the grade and character of the job as may reasonably be required, from time to time, within the Department. 10. Once informed, observe and follow all policy and procedures, especially those regarding Health and Safety that apply to all employees. You will ideally have the following experience:- Abrasive Wheels (desirable)  BOC, Gas and equipment safety awareness (desirable)  Welding/cutting/burning (desirable)  Manual Handling (desirable)  Slinging/Banksman (desirable)  Basic Sea Survival (desirable)  Lift Truck Counter Balance (10 ton Fork Lifts) (desirable) You will have Interpersonal and communication skills with people at all levels and from wide ranging, diverse backgrounds, have a flexible approach to working hours, to be able to work within tidal windows and out of normal hours during emergency call outs when required, have an ability to work independently but also work well as part of a team.
