• Job Title: Markets Officer (Temporary)

• Location: Shepton Mallet

• Pay grade for post: J1 = £21,388 pa, hourly rate £11.09

• Hours per week: 37 (flexible to cover local markets, to include early mornings and weekend working)

• Leave entitlement for post: 24 days (plus bank holidays)

• Overtime rate: time and a half (after 6.00 pm/Saturdays - must be approved in advance)

• Lunch break: half an hour min

• Start Date: asap

• Anticipated Duration: not known (staff sickness cover)

HRGO Recruitment are looking for a Markets Officer for an innovative authority set in the Mendip Hills of Somerset.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Temporary Market Officer to work in our Markets and Events Team.

Market Officer will manage and run a weekly market This role involves.

• Outdoor working - post holder is always expected to be on or near the market in all weather conditions.

• Physically demanding - role involves walking or standing for most of the day. There is also an element of manual handling.

• Lone working

• Car driver with use of vehicle

• Competent in Microsoft office systems.

• Strong organisational and administrative skills

• Good communication skills

The post is a temporary full-time position, and is a flexible post, without a set working week. The role involves early mornings and working Saturdays to provide market cover.

Experience in Market Trading or similar would be an advantage, but training will be provided. Knowledge of health and safety desirable along with good communication skills.
