Public Health England Contract (PHE) - TIER 1 ADVISER
Knowsley - Liverpool
We are looking to recruit Advisers who will be responsible for handling queries from those contacting helpline based services looking for information and behaviour change support on subject matters including sexual health and substance misuse.
Within the Adviser role you will act as a first line of support for service users, providing them with tailored information, as well as signposts to local and national agencies for additional and alternative support. You will be required to communicate effectively with service users of all ages and backgrounds, conveying information and tailoring support specific to their needs and understanding. You will be expected to communicate with them across a range of contact channels including email, voice, webchat, SMS, Facebook, Twitter and other online platforms therefore an understanding and ability to use social media effectively is crucial.
We are looking for those with experience in health and well-being, social care, or education, however, those with experience in communications and media whom have relevant volunteer or work experience in these areas, or working with vulnerable groups, are also encouraged to apply.
Working Hours
Shifts between the hours of 8am and 10pm (working 5 out of 7 days)
Rate - £8.90 per hour
Qualifications required:
Standard grade English and/or a relevant HNC/HND. Relevant and equivalent work experience may be considered.
Experience required:
Experience of actively working within a role that included the provision of information, advice and support face-to-face, over the telephone or through written communication channels is essential. Experience doing so in relation to health and well-being or behaviour change support, for example health trainer, health promotion, or helpline worker, would be advantageous.
Skills required
Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
- An excellent standard of written and spoken English
- Excellent communication skills including a confident telephone manner
- Proven ability to utilise and navigate social media platforms
- Proven IT literacy and experience of navigating various multi-channel applications and databases
- The ability to check information to a high standard of accuracy and detail
- An understanding of professional boundaries and ability to adhere to a defined remit
- An understanding of confidentiality, and ability to handle queries of a sensitive nature
- Ability to deal professionally with a large volume of service user communications i.e. calls, emails, social media posts
