HSSE Coordinator - (Oil & Gas)

Seeking a strong HSSE Coordinator for this firm and support the Regional HSSE Manager and work alongside the European colleagues within this department.

This role is due to increase demand by its clients and ever-changing dynamics required by its teams too, increasing emphasis placed on HSSE Matters, Mid/Long terms strategy to reducing carbon footprint as part of the journey to "carbon neutral"

  • To support and deliver structured education and awareness training of HSSE issues and to ensure best practice is developed and maintained.

  • To carry out HSSE audits and process reviews alongside the Regional HSSE Manager.

  • Work with others in the Products Division Global HSSE Organisation to ensure the joining up of HSSE best practice with office operations and policies.

  • Delivers proactive improvement on three material issues:

    • Health, Safety and Security of whole Group staff

    • Achieve Harmony with the Global Environment

    • Enhance Governance

  • Provide support, training and advice to all staff.

Skills:

Ideally 5 years' experience preferably in Oil & Gas or a high-risk industry background

  • Ability to prepare and update HSSE statistical tracking and trending data

  • Knowledge of and ability to use management concepts and principles including goal setting, planning and execution

  • Knowledge of relevant UK HSE laws, codes of practice and standards

  • Possess strong knowledge of OHSAS18001/ISO45001, IS014001

  • A demonstrated ability to undertake audits and risk assessments

  • Experience in supporting on investigating, analysing, preparing and delivering business reports

  • Good understanding of all aspects of HSSE best practice and risk assessment

  • Experience of auditing

  • Leading on some HSSE initiatives

  • Ability to provide support in writing concise reports and presentations and explain issues to the Regional HSSE Manager

  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Qualifications:

  • IOSH and/or NEBOSH general certification.

Essential experience:

  • Solid experience in completing risk assessments and reported incident investigations

  • Proven capability to control and lead HSSE initiatives, audits and develop countermeasures.

Preferred:

  • Experience within a related business environment would be helpful (Oil & Gas)

  • Experience of working within an international multicultural environment would be an advantage.
