Principal Purpose of the Job: Managing the Bank's Global Loan Syndications department. Negotiating and structuring debt products together with the Corporate and Institutional Banking Department colleagues (including Commodity and Structured Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Commercial Real Estate, Large Corporates, Chinese Corporates and Financial Institutions) for the Bank's clients across EMEA. Placing underwriting positions to maximize fee income for the Bank whilst appropriately managing associated risks. Senior syndication representative internally and externally within the EMEA market. Knowledge of various markets and products in which the bank is active to enable job holder to offer professional guidance on Syndication issues within these markets. Working closely with RMs in Corporate and Institutional Banking Department or within the wider banking Group as the case may be, to originate, structure, price, negotiate, underwrite, execute and place primary and secondary debt opportunities for Bank clients across EMEA. This will include vanilla corporate and financial institutions syndicated loans and also structured loans in the commodity, commercial real estate and infrastructure finance space. Specific Accountabilities: 1 To lead origination, development, marketing, negotiation and execution of deals across CIB and IBD. 2 Actively engage, maintaining and covering both bank, institutional and relationships in the following regions: - * To be confirmed. 1 Implement departmental policies, systems, and procedure so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective service. 2 Supervise and provide inputs in the preparation of timely and accurate departmental statements and reports to meet GLS's requirements, policies, and standards. Main Responsibilities: 1 Management of Syndication team covering wider range of markets and sectors. 2 Professional representation of the Bank in front of clients and counterparts. 3 Leading the loan fund raising, relationship management and document execution for the Bank. 4 Identify profitable opportunities to develop business via CIB colleagues, using own contacts where necessary although typically part of a larger team. 5 Analyse underwriting / syndication opportunities to effectively assess and manage market risk. This entails detailed credit analysis of deals, together with responsibility for structuring and pricing decisions. The role involves frequent interaction with the coverage teams, customers and leading investors (banks and institutions) in the loan markets. 6 Be deal captain for underwriting, best efforts and multi-lender loan facilities processes where the bank has a lead arranging role. 7 Lead the structuring and negotiation of term sheets and mandate letters with fellow arrangers and clients. 8 Act as co-ordinator and take a lead role in the writing of selldown advices and respect of underwriting/market risks and devising suitable distribution strategies. 9 As the senior figure in the GLS department to ensure we are observing best market practice including structuring techniques and managing all inherent risks appropriately. 10 Management of taking and placing market risk, either on hard underwritten or best efforts basis to minimize long at risk positions and devising suitable distribution strategies. 11 Providing period Syndicated loan Market commentary for circulation to Senior Management, CIB colleagues and clients.
