Is responsible for the efficient and effective day to day running of the fitness and health programme/facilities.

Ensures that a high level of customer care is demonstrated throughout the Fitness Suite.

Must maintain excellent customer relations, dealing with customer comments and complaints in a responsible and professional manner, passing information to the Fitness Manager and Centre Manager, in line with Council policies.

Carries out Fitness Instruction for customers on a day to day basis.

Develops and maintains a Personal Fitness Testing/Programme Service for customers.

Handles cash and effectively utilises the membership software system.

Assists the Fitness Suite Manager in maintaining membership records, using the membership software system.

Ensures that the equipment in the facility is properly maintained and carries out scheduled Health and Safety inspections to ensure the equipment is fit for use at all times.

Ensures that all areas within the Fitness Suite are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.

Liaises with existing leisure providers to assist with the development of new health and fitness initiatives.

Liaises with the Fitness Manager to plan regular promotions and activities to maintain and improve levels of usage.

Develops and maintains customer records relating to fitness and usage.

In liaison with Fitness Manager and Centre Management Team, develops and implements procedures to maximise membership recruitment and retention.

As required attends staff training sessions.

When on duty staff will be expected to wear the uniform provided, be well presented and to perform their duties in a professional and effective manner to ensure that all customers and visitors receive the highest quality service at all times.

Provides relevant information relating to performance, memberships and other activities as deemed necessary by the fitness suite manager.

Accurately records information through the membership software system.

The successful candidate must possess a recognised qualification in the

health & fitness industry, preferably a Level 3 Gym Instructor.
