Job Purpose: The objectives of the UK Financial Controller, Operations are: - to provide the quality and relevance of reporting to drive the performance of the UK business, with all 3 UK brands in scope. With a focus on Operations - Factory, warehousing and distribution. - to ensure strong internal controls exist throughout the Manufacturing and logistics functions to deliver compliance with internal and external audit requirements, EMEA Group principles, GAAPS and IFRS standards. - to be the custodian the standard costing and manufacturing management reporting for the UK. - to act as the architect of relevant financial and management reporting to aid business decision making with a focus on operational functions. The UK Financial Controller will work closely with the operational leaders of the business and the UK Financial Controller - Sales and Commercial, and will supervise activities of one direct report Key responsibilities * Responsible for controlling high quality, accurate, compliant and timely financial reporting to EMEA group deadlines * Ensure accuracy in financial data and reporting * Optimize and improve the way in which management reporting is carried out and delivered in UK * Further develop and increase process optimization and implement new tools, processes and systems to improve management reporting, measurement and modelling (Incl. Key role in new ERP implementation) * Co-ownership of the annual budget process and periodic forecasting processes * Analysis of operational performance and communication of trends to facilitate continuous improvement with focus on manufacturing and distribution activities * Provide clear meaningful information to guide management decision-making * Evaluation of capital projects and new initiatives * Facilitation of the management of working capital * Develop processes and procedures to ensure strong controls in place for internal and external audit compliance * Update and maintain UK policies and procedures * Maintain a strong relationship with EMEA divisional Financial Controlling team * Work in collaboration with UK Financial Controller - Sales and Commercial to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information for the 3 UK brands Required Experience and Knowledge * CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified * Minimum of 7 years' experience in a financial management role, in a manufacturing environment * Experience of AS400 and / or Dynamics AX would be a distinct advantage * Strong experience in standard cost accounting and variance analysis Functional competencies * Strong track record in reporting and management accounting and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts * Excellent analytical skills: rigorous and reliable attention to details & ability to think objectively and derive meaningful insights from quantitative data * Able to identify trends and issues and challenge in a constructive way * Project management skills and problem-solving ability * Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service * * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to coach and guide others without direct line authority * Sound computer proficiency and comfortable working with reporting and consolidation packages (e.g. Cognos, TM1,) & excellent Excel skills To apply for this role, please click on the 'Apply' button below.
