Customer Service Coordinator

Overall responsibility To provide dependable, quality customer service including responses to product enquiries, efficient order co-ordination and processing, and routine problem solving. Main duties * Act as the main point of contact for customer enquiries and orders * Enter product orders, including changes to existing orders; issue customer alerts, record lost orders and send order confirmations as required * Validate accuracy of entered records * Accurately communicate price quotations, product availability, product information and delivery schedules in a timely manner * Liaise with other departments as and when necessary to effectively process orders and satisfy customer requirements * Follow up complaints to ensure that customer expectations are satisfied * Maintain and develop the quality of services offered to customers * Monitor and report on quality of services * Promote good work practices and enhance working relationships * Attend regular team meetings * Ensure a safe and tidy area * Provide cover for the other members of the team as and when necessary * Carry out other reasonable duties that may or may not be related to the job as requested by the management Qualifications * Minimum of A level qualification. A higher education qualification in biological sciences is an advantage * NVQ customer service level 3 is preferable * 1-2 years experience in a customer service role * IT literacy (must be proficient in the use of windows-based software, particularly word and excel) Skills and abilities * Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team * Capacity of assimilating and digesting a large variety of related technical data * Accuracy and attention to detail * Ability to communicate fluently at all levels, both verbally and in writing, and both within the organisation and with customers * High level of numeracy * Flexible approach to work * Strong interpersonal skills * Excellent telephone manners Experience * Experience of working in a busy environment to tight deadlines * Experience of working in a customer facing role * Experience of working with database The successful candidate would have to have means of transport
