To effectively coordinate the companies' commercial fleet of vehicles and trailers, ensuring that all fleet vehicles, trailers, and equipment is always kept in a roadworthy condition and available for use. Fully responsible for all vehicle maintenance records and full driver management. Ensure high standards of legal compliance is provided at all times.
To authorise the purchase of equipment, goods and repairs as approved by the Traffic Manager or Senior Manager in connection with eh vehicle roadworthiness and maintenance schedule. To issue purchase order numbers for any required maintenance or repairs.
General:
Ensure all vehicles, trailers and equipment assets meet all legal requirements, e.g., preventative maintenance inspections and tachograph calibrations are in date, tyres, brakes, and steering.
Have a full understanding of EU Drivers hours, rules, and regulations
Responsible to ensure that H&S requirements are met in respect of PPE, Electrical checks, thorough inspections of tools and lifting equipment's such as (LOLER and PUWER)
Ensure breakdown are attended to and that vehicles are repaired or rescued in a cost-effective manner, this includes minor and major defects that are reported.
All vehicles are to be kept in a clean and presentable condition, both internally and externally
Services boards, planner and records are kept updated on a daily basis.
Full responsibility for the compliance in connection with the company's operator's licence and will ensure we remain complaint at all times.
Monthly tyre checks are carried out on all vehicles and trailers tyre depts recorded.
ALL vehicle and trailers undergo repairs and maintenance when required
Arranging ALL PMI, MOT's and Tachograph calibrations with vehicle suppliers on a daily basis or when required.
Day to day management of all vehicle maintenance suppliers for business,
Producing all drivers' hours reports on a weekly basis and provide to manager for approval.
Produce and display all driver performance documentation on a weekly basis,
Deal with any day to day vehicle incidents to ensure the transport department continues to operate effectively.
Work closely with traffic department and advise them of service schedules and VOR vehicles.
