HRGO are assisting FedEx to recruit for Clearance Brokers to work at the department in Northampton

You will have 8 weeks of training in Northampton on a day shift but then you will be required to work on a rotating shift basis of earlies lates and night.

We now operate 24/7 here in Northampton to make sure that shipments are cleared and delivered on time

As a clearance Broker/Import Operator you will be working in a department to make sure that all these declarations are made, and the correct amounts of tax and duty is paid

The job involves checking the customs paperwork (which is mostly a commercial invoice) and deciding if we have all the information we need, if we don't then we need to contact either the UK importer (receiver of the shipment) or the exporter (sender of the shipment) to get any additional information or paperwork that is

When we move a shipment across a border we need to make sure that we make customs declarations if required and pay any taxes and duties that are due to HMRC (which is the government agency tasked with collecting this and ensuring that goods entering the UK are compliant to customs regulations).

We move these shipments by air and road (including Ferry & Eurotunnel to and from the UK)

Attention to detail is crucial to this role along with being flexible around the shift patterns
