HR GO are recruiting for a client based in Sunderland who are seeking to appoint a Childcare Practitioner (Level 3) to start ASAP on a Term-Time basis.
The main purpose of the role is to assist in the provision of childcare for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years. You must be qualified to Level 3 standard.
The main responsibilities include:-
Setting and clearing away of childcare premises in line with standards set down by Ofsted.
To prepare activities for sessions as outlined in planned activity programme.
To carry out administrative procedures in relation to attendance.
Liaise with parents and carers regarding aspects of their child's development
Work with children, encouraging them to fully participate in all activities offered to develop their social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional skills under the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
To carry out assessments on children's learning and development including observations, using the EYFS framework.
Ensure policies of the project, particularly in respect of equal opportunities, confidentiality, child protection and health and safety are followed.
Ensure hygiene and safety procedures are followed in line with guidelines set down by Ofsted.
Attend staff meetings and participate in training to update skills and knowledge relating to childcare.
To prepare snacks and refreshments ensuring hygiene and safety issues are adhered to.
Ensure childcare premises and equipment is cleaned on a regular basis.
The successful candidate must have the Level 3 Early Years Qualification and have at least one year's experience of working within a similar environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as you will be expected to communicate with children, parents and carers.
You must also be able to work on your own initiative and work as part of as team.
The role is Term Time only and the salary pays minimum wage.
