I am currently recruiting for an Assistant Production Manager for a client based in Ashford. Hours will be 0700-1545 and every other weekend (with 2 days in lieu) Due to the nature of the client you will need some flexibility and may include working some bank holidays and there may also be the odd occasion that you will need to cover the evening shift manager. Our client is an extremely busy production company based within walking distance of the Ashford International train station or you can make use the free parking offered on site. Duties will include: * Overseeing line supervisors and line leaders to ensure work is completed effectively and in line with the business needs. * Encourage and maintain a team ethos and support the team when needed to improve productivity. * Be able to delegate tasks as and when needed. * Be able to deal with matters relating to the department regarding productivity, training and development, personnel issues and health and safety matters. * Attend training when needed to stay compliant with legal and company legislation's. * Ensuring all policies and procedures are being complied to within the pack house. * Ensure the machinery, equipment, warehouse and production area is kept clean and tidy at all times. * Plan and manage distribution within the pack house and work with other departments to ensure orders are processed on time. * Communicate any quality issues, changes in specifications and label information with line leaders and label printers. * Collate and review all production records and paperwork on a day-to-day basis. * Deputise for the production manager in his absence.
