Assistant Manager

Job Role- Assistant Manager - Supported Living Reports to-Registered Manager - Supported Living 35 PW (Worked over 7 day rota from 8am - 9pm) Role Purpose To manage and support the delivery of outstanding care services, that are safe, effective, financially viable and meet the needs and aspirations of people that use our services. Essential/Legal Requirements: * Have or willing to work towards QCF Level 4 Diploma * Extensive experience of working with people with learning disabilities and/or mental health * Experience of managing staff * Ability to travel across a wide geographical area Enhanced DBS Key Accountabilities 1. Manage and monitor the direct delivery of outstanding services that meet all CQC contractual and legislative requirements � Ensure all services that are managed are compliant with CQC standards and contractual expectations and obligations � Manage any action areas for improvement and drive focus on quality services � Monitor and review information to ensure services are effectively meeting their contractual requirements � Develop professional relationships with service users, relatives, carers and external stakeholders � Undertake regular quality monitoring checks on services to ensure that services are safe and compliant � Regularly meet with teams to cascade knowledge of care standards and business objectives � Ensure all financial decisions comply with policies and procedures and are in the best interest of the customer � Provide clear standards and expectations to staff of quality and safeguarding standards � Embed a culture of health and safety and ensure that checks and monitoring are taking place 2. Manage and support a culture of empowerment that support positive risk taking in line with company standards and best interests to ensure peoples choices and outcomes are met � Monitor that systems are in place to meet best interest procedures � Manage and support a culture that supports appropriate risk taking to achieve aspirations � Monitor and review outcome focused service delivery � Evidence and report how individuals outcomes have been met � Evidence and demonstrate how services are delivered in the best interest of the people we support � Engage people where possible with the recruitment of the people that will support them � Evidence through examples improved engagement with communities and relevant groups and associations � Evidence of engagement with staff and families 3. Monitor and check data to evidence and report on safety and compliance and to provide relevant information to Commissioners � Auditing and spot checking of support plans and needs assessments on a quarterly basis � Monitor Health & safety reporting and compliance checks � Manage the embedding of policies and procedures and ensured that they are followed and monitored � Manage data collection to be provided to relevant manager � Monitor all risk assessments ensuring that they are completed in a timely manner in accordance to the support plan � Manage collection of relevant information on support hours to ensure effective invoicing, monitoring and compliance. 4. Manage and monitor the service to ensure financial targets are met � Monitor the management accounts through effective monitoring of the service on a monthly basis � Complete any actions required to improve financial viability of any under performing services � Support the appropriate resourcing of services to ensure financial targets are met � Provide accurate information for the full invoicing of all services delivered � Attend reviews of the budget on a monthly basis 5. Manage and support the performance or the teams to develop people and resource the services appropriately � Manage performance against set targets for the team � Ensure that all supervisions, appraisals and team meetings are conducted to quality and frequency standards, including but not limited to absence, holiday and training � Monitor that appropriate resourcing is in place to meet current and future demands � Monitor that training needs for the team are met � Ensure succession planning for the team � Coach and develop the team to maximise their performance and potential to deliver the best outcomes � Support and implement recognition and consequence management for the team � Be part of an out of hours duty system for the services ensuring rotas are covered at all times � Develop flexible rostering systems to meet the agreed needs of customers � Use a variety of mechanisms to ensure that the team are aware of and utilise Policies and Procedures
