Women & Family Support Practitioner
Location: Folkestone - Community Based / Home Visits
Hours: 28 hours per week
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Contract: Fixed-term until April 2027
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Women & Family Support Practitioner to support women and families affected by domestic abuse, trauma and complex life challenges.
Working in a trauma-informed and strengths-based way, you will provide practical and emotional support, promote safety and wellbeing, and help families build resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emotional, practical and advocacy support.
- Complete risk assessments, DASH assessments and safety plans.
- Support parenting, family relationships and children's wellbeing.
- Assist with housing, benefits and access to specialist services.
- Attend safeguarding meetings and work with partner agencies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
- Manage a caseload and support groups/workshops where required.
About You
You will have:
- Experience in domestic abuse, family support, safeguarding, social care or a related field.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
- Experience supporting people with complex needs and trauma.
- Strong communication, advocacy and organisational skills.
- A compassionate, non-judgemental and solution-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
Essential Requirements
🚗 Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential due to regular home visits.
🛡️ Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
