About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Wet Works Engineer to join our commercial heating and building services team. This role involves the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of hydronic (water-based) heating systems across a variety of commercial and industrial projects.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in commercial HVAC or mechanical building services, with hands-on expertise in wet heating systems, including boilers, heat pumps, underfloor heating, and associated plant room equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, install, and commission water-based heating systems (boilers, pumps, radiators, fan coil units, underfloor heating).
  • Carry out system calculations for flow rates, pipe sizing, and heat loads.
  • Maintain and service existing hydronic heating systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Select and specify appropriate equipment and controls for system performance and energy efficiency.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, and Building Management System (BMS) engineers to ensure seamless integration.
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues such as airlocks, flow imbalance, and temperature inconsistencies.
  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in commercial heating or mechanical building services.
  • Strong understanding of wet (hydronic) heating systems and components.
  • Competence in system design, fault finding, and commissioning.
  • Relevant plumbing or mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • CSCS / JIB card or equivalent certification.
  • Full UK driving licence.
