Warehouse Operative / Machinery Operative (Table & Band Saws)

  • Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire
  • Temp to Perm position, Immediate start
  • Rate: £14.90 per hour
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 0800 - 1700 hours, with 1 hour lunch break

Are you an experienced Warehouse Operative with valid Counterbalance and Reach forklift licences and a keen eye for detail?

We have an exciting opportunity to join an established, family run engineering business who is looking to recruit a skilled and dedicated Warehouse Operative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklift trucks confidently with valid Counterbalance and Reach licences.
  • Execute picking and packing tasks efficiently, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Load and unload goods safely, maintaining a high standard of safety and efficiency.
  • Manage and oversee stock control, ensuring inventory is organised and up to date.
  • Handle goods in/out processes, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Oversee batch control to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Using machinery such as table saws and band saws (previous experience is a bonus but not a requirement) whilst following all machine safety procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a stores or warehouse environment - Essential.
  • Valid Reach and Counterbalance forklift license - Desirable.
  • Strong aptitude for stock and batch control processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet daily targets.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience using machinery such as table saws and band saws is a bonus but not a requirement.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a warehouse environment, with strong organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure. You must be a team player who is proactive and able to contribute positively to a supportive working environment.
