Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 9 - 5pm & Friday 8am - 2pm NO WEEKENDS
Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician / Motor Mechanic looking for a new and exciting challenge?
Our client who are one of the largest providers of support services to the emergency services sector is looking for a talented and efficient Vehicle Technician/Motor Mechanic to join their team in a state-of-the-art workshop, where you will be responsible for the conversion and integration of vehicles to new specifications. You will be utilising modern equipment and techniques. Duties & Responsibilities:
Removal and re-installation/fitting of seats, panels, roof lining, door cards, interior trim, engine ancillaries, carpets, switch gear light clusters, bumpers.
Removal and refitting of automotive parts and components.
Installation of wiring looms and other electrical components
Complete minor mechanical tasks e.g.: Changing brake fluid.
Complete documentation on work carried out including job sheets, service sheets.
Prepare, equip, fit and commission all vehicles-both new and used - and strip out the same prior to disposal.
Testing and instillation of free issue equipment
Carry out all duties regarding general cleanliness and tidiness and assist in the weekly clean-up of the workshop.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Ideally served a recognised apprenticeship as a Vehicle Technician /Motor Mechanic and gained a technical qualification such as NVQ / VCQ / SVQ / ATA
You must have previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician /Motor Mechanic within the automotive industry.
Some knowledge of vehicle installation techniques
Understanding of and ability to follow circuit diagrams for installation and fault-finding purposes.
Auto Electrical Installation experience, with removal/refitting of trim and panels
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A full DBS check will be carried out, so it is vital that you have a clean criminal record.
Offers of employment are normally subject to Security Clearance requirements and checks may also be made against your employment history and UK criminal records, covering both spent and unspent convictions. You must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years at least and have a complete work history as clearance is a mandatory requirement for your role, failure to maintain will result in disciplinary action and potential dismissal.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
