Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Pay: £32,000 - £35,000 per year (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time, On-Site


Role Overview

HRGO Recruitment Ashford is looking for a proactive and versatile Transport & Fleet Operations Coordinator to support daily operations across both the office and workshop.
This is a hands-on, varied role that combines administrative and practical duties to ensure the smooth running of workshop activities, vehicle maintenance schedules, and transport compliance.

It offers an excellent opportunity for someone with transport or fleet experience-and a "can-do" attitude-to develop further in a professional logistics environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee daily workshop jobs, ensuring all parts and consumables are available for mechanics.

  • Support mechanics and workshop staff with basic practical tasks when required.

  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and well-organised workshop environment, including stock and equipment management.

  • Carry out routine vehicle and truck checks, ensuring all inspection and compliance records are up to date.

  • Help schedule and track routine vehicle maintenance, reporting issues to the Transport Manager.

  • Provide assistance to drivers in relation to vehicle defects, breakdowns, or urgent issues-occasionally outside normal working hours.

  • Liaise between office and workshop teams to ensure smooth communication and workflow.

  • Complete administrative duties such as filing, document preparation, data entry, and updating compliance records.

  • Support general operational and transport planning duties as directed by the Transport Manager.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Valid HGV Licence and CPC qualification.

  • Previous experience in a transport, fleet, or workshop environment.

  • Good practical understanding of vehicle maintenance and workshop processes.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Computer literate and confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Flexible, hands-on attitude and ability to adapt between workshop and office environments.

  • Positive, team-focused approach with attention to detail.
