My client is a growing company in the FMCG Market, based near Glastonbury they are looking for a Technical Quality Assuarnace Manager/ Assistant . This a day shift , Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm
As Technical Quality Assurance Assistant You will be an integral part of a medium-size, quickly growing company, taking the lead in all technical matters, and liaising across all departments to ensure excellent food safety standards are maintained, promoted, and further developed.
Proven experience in a technical role is desirable. You will have a working knowledge and experience of BRCGS (essential), HACCP, B Corp, internal and external audit requirements.
The client currently has AA+ BRCGS grade, and the right candidate must be able to maintain this standard.
You will be required to explore ways to improve technical procedures, food safety, and food safety culture within the business. You will have an up-to-date knowledge of UK legislation for food safety, food labelling and food ingredients, and be able to establish an understanding of relevant food safety legislative requirements in the international marketplace.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all site requirements including BRCGS Global standards, customer audits and BRCGS accreditation audit requirements
Manage the company's complaint system e.g., responding, recording, and trending
Develop and maintain the QMS and HACCP, TACCP & VACCP as team lead
Managing company product specifications, including customers online portals
Liaise with colleagues, Heads of Departments and Directors to maintain and develop B Corp certification
To ensure that the standards of food safety, legality and quality defined within the Quality Management System are understood and implemented across site
Managing any non-conformances or risks to the product, ensuring appropriate action is taken to close out and implement preventative actions
Managing sampling on site for laboratory tests
Quality control of traded good items
Assist with NPD requirements; e.g., artwork proofing, shelf-life determination, and HACCP risk assessments
Actively and effectively manage and promote a food safety culture within the site ensuring all health and safety requirements are met, regularly reviewed and action plans developed and implemented.
Communicate, liaise & escalate issues with the Directors, Heads of Departments, and colleagues where necessary.
Lead the traceability team, and oversee traceability exercises.
Key Skills:
Approachable, calm, and focused with good administration skills who can prioritise and delegate tasks appropriately
Ideally trained to a degree level in a food science discipline, you will have proven leadership skills, a good eye for detail and be customer-focused
Must understand BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 (August 2022)
You will be Food Safety and HACCP Level 3 qualified plus ideally Lead Auditor
You will be able to demonstrate working knowledge of raw material & packaging specifications, factory technical management, retail customer requirements, hosting food safety audits, BRCGS, QMS and HACCP
Own transport is desirable due to remote site location
£30k- £37k DOE
8-5 (1 hour lunch)
